[00:00:30] <ermine> do you have other letters with two dots?
[00:01:35] <ermine> u: for example, and it's interesting how 'ss' (one letter) behaves
[00:02:16] <ermine> i guess it's deutsch
[00:03:36] <ermine> tr eg big
[00:03:37] <sulci> ermine: groß(dick)
[00:05:19] <ermine> tr eg very
[00:05:19] <sulci> ermine: sehr
[00:05:26] <ermine> hm
[00:10:31] <TobiasFar> mysql
[00:10:44] <ermine> it can matter
[00:11:32] <ermine> recently dear mremond added encoding for mysql connection (according to changelog)
[00:12:32] <TobiasFar> yeah..if i change ö back to ö and relogin it's correct
[00:12:51] <TobiasFar> but will be interesting when big servers like jabber.org switch to a newer version
[00:14:05] <ermine> they use pgsql
[00:14:33] <ermine> jabber.ru uses pgsql too
[00:15:07] <ermine> so i think it's mremond's stuff witn mysql
[00:15:46] <ermine> 2007-08-12 Mickael Remond <mickael.remond@process-one.net>
* src/odbc/ejabberd_odbc.erl: UTF-8 support for MySQL5 (EJAB-318).

[00:20:16] <ermine> aleksey: who is jsautret?
[00:22:37] <badlop> ermine: just for curiosity, check: https://forge.process-one.net/changelog/~author=jsautret/ejabberd/
[00:23:49] <TobiasFar> ermine: heh...utf8 support?
[00:23:54] <ermine> badlop: do you believe he does good code? Interesting, why no records in Changelog
[00:24:14] <TobiasFar> previously i had a ö and everything worked too
[00:24:15] <badlop> and also in https://forge.process-one.net/changelog/~author=jsautret/ejabberd-modules
[00:24:26] <ermine> TobiasFar: my congrats
[00:24:50] <TobiasFar> thanks...even if it seems to have an ironic touch :P
[00:26:03] <ermine> TobiasFar: if you have backup, you should convert backuped data to utf8 and recovere. Now it is unknown status of corrent db
[00:26:32] <TobiasFar> ermine: i have just 4 users on that server
[00:26:41] <TobiasFar> it doesn't matter that much :P
[00:27:40] <ermine> your luck

[13:51:25] <zapw> is it possible to send messages to say *@domain.com/resource
[13:51:25] <zapw> ?
[13:51:35] <zapw> test
[14:02:35] kostix joins the room
[14:02:57] <legoscia> you can use the announce feature
[14:03:40] <zapw> domain.com/announrce/all ?
[14:03:47] <legoscia> yes, something like that
[14:03:54] <zapw> i just want to send message to a specific group
[14:05:35] <kostix> sounds like xep33 ;)
[14:06:45] <kostix> zapw: in tkabber, you can send a message to all users in a roster group; so if your groups are stable, you can use this. placing all that group of users in a MUC room might be another solution
[14:08:01] <zapw> and can i send a message to all users with a specifc resource?
[14:08:39] <kostix> zapw: I think, in short, -- no. resources were invented not for this (strange) purpose
[14:09:38] <zapw> :)

[15:12:08] <badlop> aleksey: do you know if mod_archive will be included in ejabberd source releases?
[15:15:13] legoscia joins the room
[15:21:09] <aleksey> mod_archive_sql probbly
[15:23:44] <aleksey> there is also Jorge which does the same job
[15:24:01] <aleksey> and even more i suppose
[15:24:52] <badlop> jorge is just the User Interface
[15:25:13] <badlop> the actual storage that Jorge uses is mod_logdb
[15:25:50] <badlop> kolargol: are you considering making mod_logdb storage compatible with mod_archive_sql?
[15:27:03] <badlop> kolargol: maybe i'm wrong: does Jorge read or modify the DB itself, or relies in mod_logdb?
[15:27:26] <kolargol> badlop: it is question for Oleg Palij - as he is i think confused about mod_archive and his mod_logdb - probably we need his opinion on that as well as author of mod_archive. I can work on proiding UI - or make Jorge compatibile with both
[15:29:00] <kolargol> badlop: Jorge handle all user history managment - from activating through deleting single chats to selecting whith jid-s to log or not to log. In addition mod_logdb handle it via ad-hoc commands making it client-independent
[15:29:44] <badlop> ahh
[15:29:48] <kolargol> mod_logdb is main module that copy messages into database
[16:01:32] <kolargol> so maybe we/you should talk about that?
[16:06:16] <aleksey> where is mod_logdb sources?
[16:09:12] <klaus> https://svn.process-one.net/ejabberd-modules/jorge/
[16:10:15] malik joins the room
[16:10:35] <aleksey> klaus: it's jorge, not logdb :)
[16:11:08] <klaus> ups sorry i have see that :(
[16:11:20] <klaus> where is mod_logdb sources? :)
[16:11:32] <zinid> yes, where is mod_logdb sources??? :)
[16:12:33] <aleksey> malik: please, can you show us a database schema at least :)
[16:12:51] <malik> hi all
latest mod_logdb sources is here http://www.dp.uz.gov.ua/o.palij/mod_logdb/patch-src-mod_logdb
as it is still on development, i was not published it on public :)
[16:13:14] <aleksey> thanks :)
[16:13:35] <malik> mysql> describe `logdb_messages_2007-8-6_jabber_dp_uz_gov_ua`;

[16:15:11] <klaus> cool i need a logdb module for ejabberd.
[16:15:52] kostix joins the room
[16:16:23] <klaus> ok but i need mod_logdb.erl.orig
[16:16:30] <klaus> not this patch
[16:16:46] <kolargol> this patch make mod_logdb.erl ;)
[16:17:09] <kolargol> just apply it on sources
[16:17:48] aleksey compares with mod_archive_sql
[16:18:37] <malik> i have already compared :)
they are completely different :)
[16:19:27] <kolargol> you saying about sql schema or architecture of erlan modules?
[16:19:42] <aleksey> schema
[16:20:02] <aleksey> not completly, there is something similar :)
[16:20:06] <kolargol> mod_archive is not using dictionaries ?
[16:20:22] <aleksey> e.g. "subject" column :)
[16:20:29] <malik> :D
[16:21:53] <aleksey> kolargol: it uses two tables, collection which contains a first half of the above table, and collection messages which cover second half
[16:21:56] <kolargol> if we could merge message archive db schema with main ejabberd sql schema it would be very good design

[18:07:52] <enhering> Hi! Is there a tutorial on how to set up a shared roster on ejabberd 1.1.3? After configuring a shared roster on the web interface, users from that group cannot see the shared roster on PSI or on GAJIM. The modules are uncommented in the config file, but it still does not work.
[18:08:27] sss leaves the room
[18:09:07] <badlop> http://www.process-one.net/docs/ejabberd/guide_en.html#htoc64

[18:09:42] <badlop> http://ejabberd.jabber.ru/screenshots-shared-roster-groups
[18:12:45] <enhering> I tried all these.
[18:12:52] <enhering> It still does not work
[18:13:22] <enhering> A user from the group logs off and on again and still sees no group.
[18:14:08] <enhering> I thought about asking here because you may know about some issue.
[18:14:52] <badlop> do you use ldap, mysql, odbc...?
[18:15:03] <enhering> internal database
[18:15:33] <enhering> fedora release 7, rpm installation.
[18:15:49] <enhering> logs say nothing about it
[18:17:14] <enhering> I(<0.7386.0>:ejabberd_http:175): (#Port<0.5268>) http query: 'GET' /admin/server /jabber.cbpf.br/shared-roster/exp/
[18:17:24] <enhering> Sorry, the logs display the line bove
[18:17:35] <badlop> that's normal: HTTP GET
[18:17:52] <enhering> door 175 should be open?
[18:17:58] <enhering> port, sorry
[18:18:08] <badlop> if you use internal database and internal auth, and one vhost, all should work
[18:18:26] <badlop> 175 is the line number :)
[18:18:30] <enhering> ok
[18:18:51] <enhering> I use all internal, default, configs.
[18:19:07] <enhering> I can send the config file.
[18:20:21] <enhering> % Authentication method. If you want to use internal user base, then use
% this line:
{auth_method, internal}.

[18:21:29] <enhering> seems to be.

[18:25:57] <enhering> Does it mean that this port should be open?
[18:26:48] <badlop> no, it has nothing to do; i doubt it's a problem of ports
[18:27:04] <badlop> it seems a simple misconfiguration in the shared roster page
[18:27:15] <badlop> try to review all the steps, and compare with the screenshots, etc
[18:27:32] <enhering> ok
[18:28:44] <badlop> try logout and login in both clients, maybe it does not work as you expect :)
[18:30:20] <enhering> I have lots of people on the server now. I tried to make a shared roster group with many of them before but had no success.
[18:30:58] <enhering> There is somebody that has written comments on the screenshots page and seems to have the same problem.
